1. Remote Session Recording
Bring the powerful sound of the French horn to your project with high-quality, studio-recorded audio delivered remotely.
Pricing Structure:
Base Rate (Single Part): $150 – $250 USD per finished minute of music.
Ideal for a single horn line in a track.
Overdubs / Multiple Parts (e.g., Full Horn Section):
Projects requiring multiple distinct parts are quoted as a flat fee.
Standard practice is the first part at the base rate, plus 50-75% of that rate for each additional part.
Complex Projects: For full horn sections across multiple pieces (e.g., orchestra and band versions), a custom flat fee of $2,000 – $4,000+ USD is typical.
Rush Fee: 50% – 100% additional for delivery in less than 72 hours.

Q: Why does it cost more for multiple horn parts?
A: Playing a full horn section involves far more than repetition. It requires:
4x the Preparation: Learning four distinct, often complex, musical lines.
4x the Recording Time: Setting up and capturing a perfect take for each voice.
4x the Editing: Individually editing and mixing each track to create a cohesive section sound.
Pricing reflects this total workload and expertise.
Q: What is your turnaround time?
A: Standard delivery is 5-10 business days for just one track, can be longer for more trasks after deposit. Rush options are available.

2. Live Performance
Enhance your ensemble with an experienced and reliable hornist for principal, section, or utility positions.
Performance Fees:
Per Service (Rehearsal or Concert): $250 – $500+ USD
Fee is based on the organization’s budget, repertoire, and role (Principal vs. Section).
Multi-Service/Weekly Engagement: $1,500 – $3,000+ USD
Ideal for festival engagements, touring, or opera productions.
Travel Policy:
For performances outside the Ottawa region, the hiring organization covers:
Transportation: 100% of round-trip economy travel (air/train) or standard mileage rate.
Accommodation: A private, single-occupancy hotel room.
Per Diem: $60 – $75 USD per full day.

3. Teaching & Coaching

Instruction Rates:
Private Lessons (60 minutes): $80 – $100 USD
Available in-person in Ottawa or online worldwide.

Plus travel expenses if outside Ottawa.

General Booking & Payment Policies
The Booking Process:
Inquiry: You provide project details (scores, dates, etc.).
Quote & Agreement: I send a detailed service agreement for approval.
Deposit: A 50% deposit secures your dates.
Balance: The remaining balance is due upon delivery or prior to the first service.
