Horn Lessons
Now accepting limited number of French horn students of all levels – from beginners to professional players. Lessons offered at my home studio.
My teaching philosophy emphasizes developing complete musicians through:
- Fundamental techniques (long tones, buzzing exercises, scales)
- Musicianship (phrasing, dynamics, artistic expression)
- Practical skills (sight-reading, tuning, ensemble playing)
- Focus on elegant, refined tone production
FRENCH HORN INSTRUCTION RATES & POLICIES
IN-PERSON PRIVATE LESSONS:
- 60-minute lesson: $75

- 60-minute lesson: $75 *Stable internet connection required *Free 15-minute tech check session for new online students.
LOCATION OPTIONS:
- Home Studio (address provided upon booking)
- On-site at schools (travel fee may apply beyond Ottawa)
- Zoom (link provided upon booking)
VIRTUAL LESSON REQUIREMENTS:
- Reliable internet connection
- External microphone recommended
- Webcam positioned to show playing position
- Quiet space with good lighting
- Music stand and metronome
- Ability to share screen for music display
PAYMENT & SCHEDULING:
- Cash or E-transfer at the lesson
CANCELLATION POLICY:
- 24-hour notice required for private lessons
STUDENT EXPECTATIONS:
- Arrive 5 minutes before lesson time (login early for virtual)
- Bring instrument, music, and notebook
- Regular practice between lessons
- Communicate goals and concerns openly
- Test audio/video setup before virtual lessons
